Last year during the lunch break at TechPhx we had unplanned entertainment- a fencing club was meeting in the quad area and battling it out! Although it was unplanned, it was still very entertaining to attendees while they were eating.
This year, we decided to get our own entertainment! We are pleased to have a couple of robot demonstrations happening during the lunch break! Two valley high school teams are going to bring the ‘bots they built and show them off:
First, BioScience High School Dragon Robotics will be bringing their 120-lb, frisbee hurling FIRST Robotics robot. His name is Smaug! The Robot was designed built and competed with by students working collaboratively with professional mentors from the community. The team is entering their 8th year of competition!
We also have Metro Tech High School Knight Tech Robotics bringing their smaller FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) and VEX robots. This is their rookie year of competition! The Robots were designed and built by students working in collaboration with teachers from Metro Tech HS.
We cannot confirm or deny that there will be Styx playing in the background. Either way, it’s going to be really neat to see! These students are amazing!
